Take me out to the ballgame

We just finished another baseball/softball season. I love to watch my kids play, have fun, and learn. Sometimes they get on teams that win, sometimes they lose. I try to use those experiences to teach them lessons and to show good sportsmanship. I have always tried to tell them that umpires, referees, officials have a very hard job to do, and no matter what call they make, the kids have to respect that and not argue. The kids always want to play and are always disappointed when the season is over. I have to admit that I am disappointed too.

Amelia and Landin finished last week and had fun night at the park last Friday night. Amelia won the trophy for fastest girl base runner. She was very excited about that. Landin didn't win a trophy, but he won a pair of batting gloves. That made him happy, too. Next year they won't have fun night because they will have tournament games instead.

Riley's team was undefeated this year. He had a great year and grew as a player. He played second base, short stop, and pitched once. He got a homerun a couple weeks ago and was very excited. He loved his team and his coaches. They won the tournament this year and ended up winning a trophy for that and one for being season champs.

Next week Riley starts team conditioning every evening for the Fort Wayne Fusion JV soccer team. He is excited to work with some new kids this year, and I am excited to have the kids move on to their next sport!

Love my family

We spent Monday and Saturday with my family in Ohio. Other family members were there from other states and we had a great time. It warmed my heart to see my kids have fun with them and beg to go back soon. We were not even 2 blocks away when the kids asked how soon we could go back and stay for a long time. They had a slip n slide, moonwalk, lots of food, ice cream, and they got to make their own pizza at the pizza shop. My kids cannot stop talking about how much fun they had. Enjoy a few pictures of our fourth of July.
